Our Culture of Sharing

The Grammar School is a vibrant and diverse community of people from a range  of backgrounds, ages, affiliations and socio economic groups. As such, community building is vitally important at The Grammar School.  For students, a “culture of kindness” is integrated throughout their School experience, from the earliest days in Preschool through the 8th grade.  For adults, involvement in their child's/childrens' classroom/s, School events, gatherings, and service projects creates connection within their child's class, across grades and into the wider community.

Community at The Grammar School is built on respect for our families, our region and our environment, and through the thoughtful design and delivery of our programs.  Generations of parents, grandparents, alumni, parents of alumni and friends have shared time, talent and resources to help advance The Grammar School's mission and make a TGS education possible for as many people as possible.

While sharing may mean many things to many people, in addition to opening our hearts and sharing our values and experiences, we hope that members of our community will also be able to share their time, expertise and resources in a way that best fits their own personal and familial constraints and considerations. Approximately 80% of the school’s annual operation is covered by tuition.  To maintain affordability and keep tuition as low as possible, the difference is made up by an annual campaign of fundraising. Fundraising at The Grammar School is based on respect for our families and sincerity in our programs.
