Ways to Support TGS

There are many ways to help support The Grammar School community. We rely on our circle of parents, alumni, friends, and other supporters in a culture of sharing.

Community at The Grammar School is built on respect for our families, our region and our environment, and through the thoughtful design and delivery of our programs.  Generations of parents, grandparents, alumni, parents of alumni and friends have shared time, talent and resources to help advance The Grammar School's mission and make a TGS education possible for as many people as possible.

While sharing may mean many things to many people, in addition to opening our hearts and sharing our values and experiences, we hope that members of our community will also be able to share their time, expertise and resources in a way that best fits their own personal and familial constraints and considerations. Fundraising at The Grammar School is based on respect for our families and sincerity in our programs.

Giving

Approximately 80% of the school’s annual operation is covered by tuition.  To maintain affordability and keep tuition as low as possible, the difference is made up by an annual campaign of fundraising.

Gifts of Time, Energy, and Expertise

The Grammar School community succeeds through the ongoing willingness of its community members to give of their time and energy. Community members are involved with activities ranging from classroom visits to participating with the Board of Trustees. Community members play vital roles in a range of activities and events from Annual Fund appeals to assisting with theatrical productions to helping a teacher with a lesson or as a class parent.  We greatly value the diversity that our community can bring to our programs and relish those opportunities to bring together the many elements of our community.

Foundations and Grants

One great way to support our community is by sharing your network and knowledge of sources of support for Grammar School projects. These may be considering a request for your own family foundation, making an introduction to someone in your network who may be in a position to consider a request or sharing your experience and knowledge in grant writing and foundation requests.
