Monarch Butterflies in the Preschool

Isabel Hopkins, a preschooler at The Grammar School in Putney, holds a monarch butterfly that emerged from its chrysalis minutes earlier. Preschoolers this fall observed the life cycle of the monarch in their classroom, and eventually released three healthy butterflies for their long voyage to Mexico.
